Yup, it's that time of the year again! How time flies~
I still remember 2 years ago when my family and I went to Sarangoon Gardens to pick Sunny home. He threw up in his cart and polluted the air in my father's brand new Hyundai Advante on that very day. Later when we arrived at the vet, we realised that his paw got stuck onto the internal base plate of the cart.
No doubt, it's still fresh in my mind, just like yesterday. :)
Shortly after we celebrated Sunny's birthday during the Lunar New Year period, I got busier and busier with school and the endless assignments. I seldom have the chance to take out my camera and chase Sunny around the house, trying to get some wonderful shots. In the end, I just make do with my Sony Ericsson T700's 3.2 megapixel camera. So, just bear with me for all the low resolution photos taken.
22 February.
After debating this particular issue with my brother for over a few weeks, we have decided to trim Sunny's coat shorter. In this way, it will be easier for us to groom his coat daily and maintain it well...
This is the one photo we took the night before trimming his coat short:

23 February.
Whenever I go and pick Sunny up after his grooming session, I will tend to question myself if the dog they return me is really Sunny. This is especially true on this day as I really do not know what happened to my show dog quality Sunny...
Photo taken after Sunny's back from his grooming session:
4 March.
Like what Edmund, Sunny's trainer, used to tell us:
"A tired dog is always a good dog":
13 March.
Caught Sunny suntanning near the window on one sunny morning:
14 March.
Photogenic Sunny:
Out of a sudden, he winked at me:
Then, he gave an innocent look (with ears drawn back) as though he did nothing weird:
And he looked away:
After awhile, he brought his toy over and initiated playing tag-of-war:
9 April.
Sometimes I still think that Sunny can't stand straight:
21 April.
Another day where I caught Sunny suntanning by the window:
I went to him and as usual, he wants a belly-rub:
After his belly-rub, he wants to have playtime:
Then, I held still, sitting where I am and...
Sunny goes for another round of suntanning instead:
And he poses for a photo:
And another:
And... He got frustrated.
So, he decided to lay down and enjoy more suntan:
Just a few days back I was telling my mum that since Sunny loves sunny day (so that he can suntan), maybe we can name our next dog Stormy. In this way, Stormy will love stormy days and not kick a fuss over the rain, the thunder and the lightning. Perhaps it's also due to all the suntanning and that's why Sunny's coat is so nice and shinny... Hmm, it sure sounds logical. Ha ha.
2 May.
Sometimes, Sunny is just in the mood for a photo shot or two:
And the very next moment, he will be emo-ing:
3 May @ 0130 hours.
And this is what I am talking about. When it rains, Sunny will make a fuss over it and will want to sleep in a corner which makes him feel more secure... Meaning to say that when it starts storming in the middle of the night, I will have to sacrifice my sleep for I am a light sleeper~
Here he is, between my bed and my barang-barang:
9 May.
My mum was away for her medical appointment and on this very morning, I didn't see Sunny in my room. I shouted for him, but he just never appear. So I went down and I saw Sunny panting really heavily at his usual suntanning spot. And mind you, the sun is especially warm on this particular morning! And by the time I get Sunny out from the sun, he's already burning HOT...!
A picture speaks a thousand words:
16 May.
YS sponsored Sunny's grooming session @ VivoCity which cost $60.
[Ah... Rich man's dog! Ha ha ha!]
And this was how Sunny looked like when we picked him up:
18 May.
I really love it when Sunny poses at the stairs:
(It sure looks really classy, huh?)
17 July.
I made an appointment with The Animal Clinic @ Sunset Way for Sunny's annual vaccination. Even though the appointment was at 6.30pm, I already got Sunny ready at 3pm. I spent half an hour grooming him, and by 3.30pm, Sunny's all ready. Sunny was really excited as he knew that he will be able to go on an outing. Hence, we waited, and we waited, and we continued waiting until it's 5.45pm. We reached Sunset Way at around 6.15pm (all thanks to the Friday jam along Clementi). And by 6.20pm, we were already at The Animal Clinic, waiting for the vet to get ready.
At first I thought that we will just have to pay 40 over bucks for the annual vaccination. But, the vet went on to elaborate on heartworm and explained to me what it's all about. The testing alone cost 50 over bucks, and the medication cost roughly 9 bucks per month. To tell the truth, I really had a lot of '$$$' figures floating in my mind. Trying to calculate how much this trip to the vet is going to cost me. So, I couldn't decide by myself whether or not to start Sunny on the heartworm thingy... And after discussing it with YS, we decided to go for it.
At 6.50pm, all the testing and vaccination were done. When I was called over to the cashier counter, I was shocked. The total bill came up to $170.05, and I just couldn't believe it. I felt the pain as though someone is pinching really hard on my heart. And I am just unable to believe that it's $170! Eeeks!!
But, come to think of it, Sunny is my first dog. I shouldn't let anything happen to him, and I am taking it as though I am paying fees to learn something new, something which I wasn't aware of until this very moment. Moreover, like the old saying goes "prevention is better than cure", I would rather stay safe than sorry. :)
Anyway, this is how Sunny looks like at 3.30pm:
I am really proud of myself for doing up his 'hair' so nicely!
And here's Sunny trying to get into the SUN-light:
27 July.
Just a couple of days back, my mum and I went to IKEA. I searched around for this particular item which I saw it before sometime back. I have always wanted to get one, but they went out of stock for quite sometime already. I could say that I, or perhaps Sunny is quite lucky this time round as I have decided to buy it as a gift for his '2nd Anniversary'. I do have some doubt on whether I will waste money should Sunny be not interested in this item. But, thank goodness, Sunny love it and I bet he's dreaming in it right now (*time check: 3.31am*)!
As you know that IKEA is famous for their DIY furniture, no doubt I will have to have some hands-on procedures in fixing this item up for Sunny.
And... Taa-daa~
The tent itself cost $19, while the cushion (baby pillow) cost $5.
Sunny's 'hair'?
Uh, don't worry about it. Even humans will look like that after fixing up any DIY items from IKEA. ;)
And here's Sunny appreciating his new "home":
Cheers!
