1st Anniversary

28 July.
Does the date mentioned above ring a bell?
Nope, it's not your friend's birthday...BUT, it's the date where Sunny was being brought back from Pet's Station to join me and my family! And I still remember what happened exactly one year ago...

The joy of holding a dog that belongs to me overnight.
The amount of money being withdrawn from the ATM and paid to the shopkeeper.
The time spent in the pet shop choosing the right food, toys and accessories.
The first experience stepping into a vet and realised that the fees are that HIGH.
And of course...
The blur-ness in myself when I finally own a dog.
Ha ha!

So much has happened ever since Sunny joined us.
The joy.
The fun..
The irritation...
The frustration....

And of course, I am sure that Sunny has also enjoyed the time we have had spent together all these while. :)

Let's take a look at a couple of photos now~

8 June 2008
The first time Sunny went to East Coast Park with the whole family:

Here's another photo of Sunny at ECP:

Now let's take a look at Sunny playing with his frisbee:

Oh, did I mention that Sunny simply loves the sun?
Be it in the morning or in the evening, Sunny sure likes suntanning:

Whenever Sunny is tired, he'll be up the sofa taking a nap:

Now, I would like to introduce Mark's Summer and Winter:

These two little hamters are Winter Whites (Sapphire). When I first brought them home, Sunny was very curious and he kept wanting to take a look at what I have in the plastic container (containing Summer and Winter). After a couple of hours, Sunny began to feel jealous and he will start whinning whenever anyone of us go near the hamsters. Sunny was very excited when the hamsters are around, and as a result, the hamsters will feel stress and they kept squeaking at the slightest sound made around the house.

And on one occassion, the hamsters even break free from the plastic container and went missing in my storeroom. Luckily I managed to see one of them running across the room, and that's when I found where they are hiding. And I must say that I am also lucky that the storeroom was closed, if not I would not have found the hamsters.

I went to get a piece of mesh immediately after the incident and covered the plastic container up. To my surprise, on the very next day, one of the hamster went missing again... I tried my luck at the same corner in the storeroom, but the hamster was no where to be found... I ended up with no choice but to send Sunny to the rescue!

After giving much encouragement to Sunny, he managed to sniff out where the hamster is hiding. When Sunny know where the hamster was, he was very excited, or perhaps, frustrated, because Sunny knows where they are, but yet he is not able to have access to the area just behind the dry box for storing my cameras.

So the credits go to Sunny!
3 cheers and 3 cheers and 3 cheers for Sunny!
You go, boy!

27 July 2008
A recent trip to ECP:

Check out Sunny's friend!
It's Rainy (or was it Snowy? I am confused):

The turtles might be Sunny's friend, but Sunny always seems to be scared of them. LOL

After playing with the turtles, we went roller blading with Sunny.
After 2 hours or so, this was how Sunny feel:

And within the next 5 minutes:

Sunny sure is cute~!

hello, i am back!

Good evening everybody!

Yup that's right! It's me, the hottest, coolest and sexiest DJ Sunny! Thank you so much once again for keeping tuned to 26.1FM! Ever since the last programme I had, much positive feedback and encouragements have been given. Much thanks, man!

And thanks for the song dedication, dude! What is the song that I heard? "Eternal Flame"? Well, I must say that that's a good song! "Eternal Flame" was a hit single for The Bangles in 1989, peaking at #1 in six nations, including Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States. It was written by popular songwriters Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly and the Bangles' Susanna Hoffs.

Enough said! Let's all enjoy the song "Eternal Flame" now!

Eternal Flame - The Bangles or Eternal Flame - The Bangles

That was a great song wasn't it... Lots of feelings put into it. Alright! We've got a caller here on the line, Sundrew!

Me: Hello Sundrew!

Sundrew: Hey hi!

Me: So how's life for ya?

Sundrew: Good I suppose, good. Stable job, happy family and all. Just that I've been feeling sad over what's happening around in the society recently...

Me: I do agree... But life's never smooth sailing isn't it? So let's all stay positive and look forward to a better day, everyday, shall we?

Sundrew: Yes! Thanks a lot Sunny!

Me: It's my pleasure, buddy! Thanks for calling in today!

Sundrew: No no no, wait! Can I have your number? Let's be friends and talk about life over coffee some days shall we? Or why not give me your house address? I can drop by for tea too!

Me: Oh..... Alright! Let's talk about it off air in a moment's time! For now, I have arranged "True Colours" for everyone to enjoy!

True Colors - Cyndi Lauper

The title song was also written by Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly. It was used as the theme song for the 1988 Olympic Games, the 2003 Rugby World Cup and for Kodak cameras and film.

What a perfect song for the cosy night! I guess it's about time to say bye! Long till the next time!
Have a good evening!

Alrightzz! Time for a song dude! Let's have a classic from the 60's shall we? Let's enjoy "I Want to Hold Your Hand" from The Beatles!

I Want to Hold Your Hand - The Beatles

Wasn't that a nice song? "I Want to Hold Your Hand" is a song recorded in 1963 by The Beatles, composed by John Lennon and Paul McCartney. It is also The Beatles' best-selling single worldwide.

What a sentimental song which brings back great memories from the past..... Right! Anyway there is a call coming in! Must be someone to share about his past!

Me: Hello there! Gooood day!

Caller: err.... h..hel......lo.

Me: Yup! How do I address ya?

Caller: errr... I'm Stormy....

Me: Yes! Nice to meet you Stormy! So... What's up for the night?

Stormy: err..... I don't know... It's raining heavily here... And it's freaking cold and scary...

Me: Ahha! And how come can I help 'cha?

Stormy: I wanna hold your hand...

Me: Alright! I guess that's really quite scary when it comes to a stormy night, huh?

Stormy: Yeah, I wanna hold your hand.......

Me: Right... Exactly! Thank you Stormy for the call!

Alright! I guess that's about it? It's time to say goodnight and goodbye till the next time!
Before we end, let's have another song from the 60's... How about "Yesterday" from The Beatles?

The Sunny Fund

When Sunny received his first few angpaos from my cousins on 7th February 2008, that's when The Sunny Fund was being established.

The purpose of The Sunny Fund is to save up some money, not for myself nor anyone else, but for Sunny. The money in The Sunny Fund will be used for buying Sunny's dry kibbles, treats, shampoo, conditioner, other grooming accessories, as well as for his once-every-3-months full grooming session at the Dogs Salon.

P.S. Due to not having any stable income on my part, The Sunny Fund is the only main source of money where it would be used solely on Sunny.

Up to date, the people who have donated to The Sunny Fund were my cousins, my friends, my brother and sister, my mum (the primary source of where the fund comes from), and not forgetting myself (the secondary source of where the fund comes from).

So......
To all my dear friends/supporters of Sunny who are reading this post from 'Hotty Rowdy Sunny Baby', please help by contributing some of your extra pocket money to The Sunny Fund.
I promise you that the money you contributed will be put into good use in buying items for Sunny only.

And......
On behalf on Sunny, I would like to thank all who have contributed to The Sunny Fund!

Thank you!

Vesak Day

It has been 3 months since 'Hotty Rowdy Sunny Baby' was last updated. How time flies... *Woof!*

Even though it has only been 3 months, but in my eyes, Sunny sure has grown quite a bit. I do not mean physically (except that there is a slight increase in his weight), but Sunny's psychological behaviour sure tells a lot of difference.

Did you know that chocolates are meant to be poisonous to dogs? But I guess this does not apply to Sunny boy, huh?

There were a couple of occassions whereby Sunny would go around hunting for chocolate cakes in my brother's gym bag... So there was once where the cramps of the chocolate cake were dropped all over my brother's bed. And there was another time where Sunny made a mess all over the dining room, and he just wouldn't let go of the chocolate cake plastic bag, so I have got no choice but to bite slightly on his ears, but at the end of the day, I suffered 2 bite marks on my neck with blood flowing down from the bite marks...

Then there was another incident, I wasn't sure of what happened exactly though, but after I came back from Bugis on a fine Saturday afternoon, Sunny was hiding under the dining table. And guess what? He finished a bar of Mars chocolate!! Oh gosh~!

So after all these incidents, we were extra careful of where we keep our chocolate bars and etc, so it will remain out of reach to Sunny. Also, in order to satisfy his fondness of chocolates, I managed to get a packet of chocolate chips meant only for dogs.

Apart from chocolates, Sunny is basically interested in almost all food stuffs which we are consuming too.

There was once where we were having roasted duck and roasted pork for lunch. I guess the aroma of the roasted meat is making it too delicious for Sunny to reject trying the good food... So as we all have more or less finished our meal, cleared our bowls and went away, Sunny actually jumped up to the table and started eating the rice remaining from my sister's bowl!! Tsk tsk~! Bad boy, Sunny! Bad boy!

After this happening incident, we always make sure that there's always someone at the dining table watching out for Sunny when there's food on the table.

As Sunny is born a Terrier, there is no doubt that Sunny is a very good watch dog. I guess, he's just way too good! Even the slightest sound from the park downstairs, Sunny would start barking and howling.

Sunny actually left a 3cm scar on my left arm recently...so I guess I won't have to describe what would happen if there's some one at the door, do I?

Last week, I booked an appointment with a Dog Salon at Jurong East for Sunny's grooming session. This was the 4th official full gromming session for Sunny since he came over to my place in July 2007. And the reason for choosing a Salon at Jurong East instead of going back to the one at Teban Garden?

Cut cost on Taxi fares~

So my mum and I walked Sunny all the way from our place (Jurong West) to Jurong East, and that was basically 6 bus stops away, and we took about 45 minutes to walk there. In between we went Giant to buy a couple of items... After Sunny's grooming session, we walked another 6 bus stops back home, but this time, carrying Sunny in his bag + shampoo, toothpaste, flour, bath foam, etc.

It sure is a great day of workout!

Before Sunny's grooming, he looks kind of messy:

After Sunny's gromming, he looks like this
(P.S. Do pardon the hair in front of his eyes...):

Sunny sure is of show dog's quality!
Check out his shiny coat:

Sleepy head lying on the floor:

There was even a day in April where I drove Sunny to NP and brought him to Alpha Centre. Minus our Alpha Centre Manager, Sunny sure is popular over there~ He he...

It's Vesak Day! Thekchen Choling (Singapore) has an event whereby we can bring our pets along to be blessed by Lama Dorje. I have already decided to bring Sunny down to the temple for the blessing a week ago, but I was troubled because the temple is located at 2 Beatty Lane. But luckily, Sunny didn't suffer from car sickness throughout the whole journey.

When we were at the temple, there were people who brought their dogs, cats, rabbits, and even hamsters! And we saw Constance Song with 2 of her Yorkies too! Uh-huh~ Yorkshire Terriers!

Then suddenly, there was a Golden Retriever (GR) dashing across the road! The GR actually came off leash and as he was dashing across the road, there was an oncoming car, luckily the car managed to stop in time to prevent any accident from happening. After the car drove away, the GR even lie down in the middle of the road! The owner was so shocked and lost, but he has got no choice but to carry the full grown GR back to the temple... Sweat!

Preparing to set off to the temple:

After the blessing ceremony, we were sort of having fun...taking photos:

Sunny drinking from straw:

After the event at the temple, we brought Sunny to the Dog Run at West Coast Park.

The Dog Run area, minus some inconsiderate owners who doesn't clean up after their dogs, it's quite a nice place to bring your furball to interact with the other dogs around. We recce around the area and find it quite comfortable, hence we decided to let Sunny go off-leash to interact with the rest of the dogs and let him run around.

Recce around the place:

I bet Sunny sureee had fun! Woo-hoo~

FYI, Recce (pronounced "recky") is a word used in media production, derived from "reconnaissance", a general military term.

It's Chinese New Year

Sunny is my 6 month old Yorkshire Terrier imported from Australia which I brought him home from Pets' Station on the 28 July 2007 for $1177 (inclusive of 7% GST). On that particular day when I got Sunny, he vomited in his crate when we were on our way back to Clementi from Serangoon Garden, and when he was at the vet, I guess he got too stressed when he was in the car that he got his own paws stucked onto the 'mat' inside the crate. And that was when I first heard Sunny bark and whine, because previously when I was at the pet shop for that two days, Sunny didn't even make a noise.

On the 2nd day, we bought Sunny along to the market to have our dinner, since we wanted to have our dinner there, we brought Sunny along with him inside his crate, shortly after our dinner, I saw Sunny scratching and pushing his cloth to one side of the crate... I thought he wanted to poop... But instead... He vomited, making a huge mess.

But anyway, Sunny adapted to our house very quickly, but he is just way too active, he likes to run in circles around my furnitures and he likes to jump up and nibble on my hand, at times, he even attacked my toes...

This is a photo of Sunny when we was at our place after 10 days:

Later, i grew to learn what's teething, and that's when Sunny's baby teeth will drop and changed to Canine teeth. At times you will see some blood on some of his toys and the next moment you will see one or two of Sunny's teeth on the floor, sometimes he will spit it out, other times, even before you realised it, Sunny has already swallowed his tooth down. Ha ha.

Not sure why, people kept saying that dogs are actually very clean animals, but Sunny seems to step on his poop all the time... And it's really that bad, the poop will stuck in between his paws and it will stuck on the floor tiles too. *Oh man!*

There was this point of time where I doubt Sunny was a Yorkshire Terrier. It's so confusing, after reading the post on Silky vs. Yorkie, I am still not able to get a clue in telling the two breeds apart... And Sunny seems to be longer than any other Yorkie breeds around in SG.

Within a month, I got Sunny a trainer to do Obedience Training. Sunny's progress is good, but at times, he is just really, very rowdy! But it's OK, the trainer got everything under control, and I am following all the instructions too. :)

On 20 August, I bought Sunny to NADC @ Terban Garden to have his first ever grooming session. The groomer didn't do a good job as he didn't even realise that Sunny's nails were bleeding until I brought it out to his attention. What a bad experience for both Sunny and me. But it was a lesson learnt as I didn't point it out to the groomer that Sunny's nails are black and that he shouldn't cut it too short.

But anyway, after grooming, here's how Sunny looks like:

Somehow I feel that Sunny is beginning to act a bit weird at home, I realised that no matter what, he must at least see people around him when he's awake. And he will only take a nap when there's someone around his playpen. And if I walk away, he will be awake, and looking around... Then I see that he is not interesting in his toys anymore, though I just got a new bear for him. Seems that he doesn't really like running around, but just walking, and not knowing what he really wants.

There was even this once when I brought him up from his usual walks, not sure why, but Sunny got very KPO, his head went into one of the Muslim's house gate. Made me got scolded as a reault... (But if it brings bad luck to the muslims, then Sunny perhaps will bring the good luck to my house... Ha ha.)

Here's a photo of Sunny and his bear from IKEA:

Slowly, Sunny was exposed to other dogs in the neighburhood, and that's when I see how dogs get to check each other's out and play around. :)

Bought Sunny to The Joyous Vet on the 29 August, and found out that Sunny was down with fungus infections, and that explains all the scratching and scratching and scratching all over his body! And because of Sunny's fungus infections, my sister and I got infected too! And up till today, the spot still can be seen on our legs...

5 September, this is the first time I tie a top knot for Sunny boy, OK, I know it's a bit girlish, but that's to prevent his fur from getting into his eyes:

Picture says a thousand words, now lets take a look at some photos of Sunny...
Rowdy Sunny playing tug-of-war with mum's kitchen cloth:

Sunny on his first outing to WCP on Sunday:

Sunny @ my aunty's place:

Sunny's favorite hot spot during my meal time:

Sunny looking smart, acting smart:

Sunny is just an illusion~~

And soon, it's Christmas! I got Sunny his outfit from Diaso, just in case he doesn't want to wear it, and it's not that wasteful. Sunny is willing to let us put the scarf and hat on for him, but the next moment when you look at him, he will be there chewing on the scarf. Ha ha.

Sunny in his Christmas outfit, on the stairs, next to the Christmas tree:

Then, it has been 6 months since Sunny was with us,there were joy, anger and so much more other feelings... But most of the time, Sunny brought laughter to our family, and that's the purpose of me bringing him home in the first place. :)

Sunny boy celebrated his 1st Birthday on the 26th January 2008 at Botanic Garden. I went to US Doggie Bakery @ Turf City and got him a piece of somewhat pandan flavor cream cake. I bet he must have enjoyed it a lot!

Just look at how he gobble down his cake:

But that day when we were at Botanic Garden, I guessed there were too many ants around, Sunny kept scratching his own body and even roll all over the floor, heartache to see him feel so uncomfortable...

And there was this day where I think Sunny were playing too excitedly before he go off to bed. When I was just about to bring him back to his confinement area at night, I realised that his cushion bed was wet with pee... Yikes, and he just taken his bath OK?

There was another day, I guessed he just came back from grooming, I came home and he decides to poop all over the house... Within 5 minutes, he pooped at 5 different spots, all the way from the dinning room, to the kitchen, to the living room... Spent a hard time trying to clear up the mess that he left me. But thank god, it wasn't anything like diarrhea.

Now, it's Chinese New Year! My mum got Sunny boy a CNY clothing as she strike 4D. :)

Just look at how smart Sunny looks:

Brought Sunny to my grandparents place yesterday and followed by one of my aunty's place for the yearly CNY gathering. The Maltase (13 years old) and Shih Tzu (8 months old) were the center of attraction, and for Sunny, he is behaving very hyper actively, kept wanting to go around sourcing for food dropped on the floor.

But I guessed Sunny did enjoy himself, because all the kids there were having fun with the 3 dogs in the house!

And guessed what? 3 of my cousins even gave him an angpao (and that adds to his food fund as he is running low on his kibbles)... Hehe.
